Individual EMDR Therapy
EMDR is a therapy that uses bilateral stimulation. This can take the form of eye movements (in any direction, but usually horizontally side to side), tapping on the body, or auditory sounds played from one ear to the other. I use Bilateral Base, a high quality, secure video platform with integrated bilateral stimulation tools. It is this bilateral stimulation that brings positive adaption and relief to distressing memories that are stored both in the body and mind.
At the outset of therapy we will consider the reason for meeting and goals for the sessions. Allow for at least 8 sessions, that will usually take place weekly. We will regularly re-evaluate how the therapy is going, I welcome client feedback and build this into my thinking and work.
Sessions last up to an hour, at £95/ session.
Consultant Supervisor In-Training
I offer online supervision. Supervisees can expect a safe and supportive space, where clinical cases, formulations, and EMDR techniques can be explored, checked and considered. Together with Supervisees, we reflect on cases, do role playing, unravel complex formulations, discuss EMDR skills and protocols and consider client safety. The aim of our sessions would be to deepen EMDR techniques and skills, and have a safe place where clinicians can consider their own wellbeing and talk about any vicarious trauma experienced within their work. Sessions are tailored to the personal need of each Supervisee.
Supervisees would not be able to count any hours of Supervision towards EMDR Practitioner Accreditation whilst I am still in-training.
Sessions last up to 50 mins, at £50/ session.
Group EMDR Therapy
I am trained to work with professional, community or family groups using the EMDR group protocol: G-TEP (Group-Traumatic Episode Protocol). GTEP is an evidence-based intervention used to reduce acute stress resulting from recent or on-going distress or trauma. Examples are frontline stressful work (humanitarian work, emergency services), and critical incidents (communities affected by displacement, terror related experience).
GTEP is a gentle approach that works through triggers and trauma symptoms. The trauma is not brought to mind, and there is no group discussion other than post-session reflections. The group holds to guidelines that ensure respect and privacy, and each person processes independently. It is a non-verbal intervention guided by a script and worksheet.
Sessions are 2 hours. Please contact Fiona for further information, prices are dependent on size of group.
